Holidaymakers jetting to or from the UK today should check the status of their flights.

This comes as Ryanair said weather conditions, outside its control, could cause disruptions such as delays or cancellations.

Poor weather can disrupt flights from all airlines, and anyone affected will be contacted.

The airline said: “[Expect] potential disruptions to/from The UK (Saturday 1 March) due to fog.

Customers will be notified if they are affected

“Affected passengers will be notified, and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Saturday, 1 March, should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from the UK.”

As well as foggy conditions, the Met Office currently has a flood warning in place for parts of England and Wales that could cause further travel chaos across the country.

Ryanair has advice for anyone who is experiencing delays of two hours or more to their flights.

It said: “If your flight is expected to be delayed for two hours or more (for flights up to 1,500km) or three hours or more (for intra-EU flights over 1,500km and other flights between 1,500km and 3,500km) you will receive assistance at the airport, including meal coupons.

“Flights can be delayed for reasons beyond our control, for example, ATC strike, adverse weather condition, medical emergencies, etc.

“If your delay extends to the next day, we will oftentimes provide hotel accommodation and transportation between the airport and the accommodation.

“If this is not offered, please keep all itemised receipts for any reasonable expenses and submit these to Ryanair to claim back your expenses.”
