King Charles’ new Amazon Prime documentary will have a “wider audience” than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shows, a royal commentator has exclusively told GB News.
Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, signed a five-year deal with Netflix after announcing they would step back as working royals in January 2020 and have released multiple series with the streaming giant.
The King, 76, has chosen Amazon Prime, a rival streaming site to Netflix, to release his new feature-length documentary that has already started filming at Dumfries House in Scotland.
The show aims to “show, not tell” viewers how to “transform people, places and ultimately the planet”, palace sources have claimed.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has told GB News that the King’s documentary will not chase ratings like Meghan Markle’s upcoming eight-part show, “With Love, Meghan”.
He said: “The film will have kudos and get a wider audience because of King Charles’s involvement.
“He has given speeches on the environment since 1970.
“Harmony is philosophical, about the imbalance between mankind and nature and the need to rectify this.”
Fitzwilliams added: “The film will seek to spread the word rather than seek top ratings as the topic is challenging and philosophy normally attracts few devotees.
“The King will reportedly be making minimal appearances personally.
“Amazon Prime are making it, it isn’t a ratings chaser like Meghan’s With Live, Meghan.
“There is no similarity whatsoever.”
Prince Harry and his father are thought to not be on speaking terms.

The now Californian-based royals broke records on the streaming site when they released their debut documentary, Harry & Meghan.
However, the Duke and Duchess have not achieved the same reaction with their more recent projects, including “Polo”, which focuses on the “fierce rivalries” and the “intense training” that those in the US Open Polo Championship undergo.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will hope to impress Netflix before their contract expires later this year with their upcoming show “With Love, Meghan”, which stars Meghan Markle.
The eight-part lifestyle and cookery show, which was originally meant to air on January 15, was delayed at Meghan’s request due to the devastating Californian wildfires.
