Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson was forced off the pitch following a horror head injury during his international trip with Brazil against Colombia.

The Reds’ star suffered a serious knock – and later taken off with a ‘suspected concussion’ – after he collided with former Premier League rival Davinson Sanchez.

The incident happened after the Brazilian jumped to punch the ball while Sanchez attempted to score a header – with both players ending up falling to the ground.

Brazil team’s doctor Rodrigo Lasmar followed with an update after Alisson was visibly concussed and dizzy before receiving medical treatment.

‘(Alisson) Becker suffered a trauma to the head region, he was replaced by a suspected concussion,’ said Lasmar.

‘Now we will do all the CBF protocol, it will undergo recommended imaging tests, a computed tomography, then a resonance with diffusion.

Liverpool goalkeeper’s injury adds to Arne Slot’s challenges, as two more players suffered setbacks during international duty

‘If all the tests are normal, we’ll follow up and do a cognitive test. And then we will evaluate the player.

‘In the possibility that everything is normal, we will make a sequence of observations in the coming days. Today, we will do the tests, all the necessary evaluations.

‘Alisson is normal, with no complaints. He reported no fainting and no memory loss. He thought it was a little slower. In this scenario, the recommendation is the replacement of the player.’

The injury blow came just minutes before Brazil scored their winning goal through Vinicius Junior’s effort in the late stages of the game.

Whether the Reds shot-stopper will be available for the national squad’s crucial game against Argentina on Wednesday remains unknown.

Although Liverpool will not play until the beginning of April in a highly anticipated Merseyside derby against Everton, Arne Slot’s squad has been hit by another huge injury blow.

Defensive midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad for their Nations League quarter-final against Spain.

The 22-year-old left the camp after sustaining a muscle injury against Newcastle in the 2-1 dismal defeat by Newcastle last Sunday.

Furthermore, the Reds’ defender Ibrahima Konate was forced off during France’s 2-0 loss to Croatia

Ibrahima Konate is another doubt for Anfield’s clash against city rivals after the Frenchman was replaced at half-time following a knock.

The defender appeared in the starting lineup against Croatia in the Nations League on Thursday night, but endured a challenging game which concluded with a 2-0 loss.

Having been knocked out of all cup competitions – the FA Cup, Carabao cup and the Champions League – Slot’s men return to a weekly schedule of just one game.

With 70 points at the top, the Premier League leaders have just nine matches left to conclude their domestic season.
