Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has condemned individuals attacking Tesla vehicles, describing them as “domestic terrorists” with “mental health problems”.

Speaking on GB News, the elder Musk criticised those responsible for a recent wave of vandalism targeting Tesla properties across the United States.

He compared the vandalism to childhood bullying, recalling his own experience of finding his bicycle tyres slashed at school.

“It’s the behaviour of the can’t dos. They can’t do anything so they do this to try and show they have some power,” Musk said.

The attacks come amid a wave of vandalism targeting Tesla dealerships, charging stations and vehicles across the US.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi has classified these incidents as “domestic terrorism”.

Tesla properties have been targeted in response to Elon Musk’s influence over the Trump administration, according to reports.

Several incidents have involved Molotov cocktails being thrown at Tesla dealerships in Colorado, Oregon and South Carolina.

This week alone, suspected arson attacks were reported in Las Vegas and Kansas City, Missouri.

Bondi announced federal charges against three individuals who used Molotov cocktails to attack Tesla properties in separate incidents.

The suspects could face between five and 20 years in prison if convicted.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi said in a statement.

She warned: “If you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

President Donald Trump also issued a warning to those involved in the attacks, stating they “stand a very good chance of going to jail”.

Errol Musk questioned the motivations behind the attacks during his GB News appearance.

“What are they trying to achieve? Do they want the US to continue borrowing money to pay people who don’t work? What do they actually want?” he asked.

He emphasised that such destructive behaviour indicates psychological issues.

“You have to have a mental health problem to do something like this. I have never done anything like that,” he stated.

The attacks have prompted a strong response from US authorities, with both Trump and Bondi vowing serious consequences for perpetrators.
