Tasha Ghouri’s mother has appeared to reveal the real reason behind her daughter’s split from Andrew Le Page by endorsing fans’ social media comments about the couple’s breakup.

Nicky Young liked a comment suggesting the Love Island stars had naturally grown apart, offering the first insight into why the pair ended their two-year relationship earlier this month.

The telling comment read: “Sometimes relationships just don’t work out. We’re not in their lives so we don’t know the reasons.

“Sometimes people can just outgrow each other or not be as driven or want different out of life and much more.”

Ghouri and Le Page first met on Love Island in 2022, where they reached the final of the hit dating show.

The couple appeared to be going from strength to strength after leaving the villa, moving in together in London and later purchasing their own home.

At the start of 2024, they had been documenting their house renovation progress on a dedicated social media account.

The pair had also adopted a dog named Luna together and gotten matching rose tattoos, with engagement rumours swirling around their relationship.

Their seemingly solid partnership made the news of their January split particularly shocking for fans.

Sources suggest Ghouri’s participation in Strictly Come Dancing may have contributed to relationship tensions with Le Page.

An insider told The Sun: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly. She gave her all in that competition.”

The source claimed her dedication to training with dance partner Skorjanec created distance between the couple.

“Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by,” the insider revealed.

The situation reportedly worsened with Ghouri’s commitment to the Strictly tour, with the source adding: “Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again.”

Le Page was reportedly blindsided after discovering Ghouri had joined celebrity dating app Raya following their split.

Her profile on the exclusive platform describes her as a “Northern girly” who is “always smiling and laughing”. The profile features photos from December, including shots of Ghouri in a red dress at a Christmas party.

Meanwhile, speculation has emerged about a potential new romance during the Strictly tour.

Professional dancer Carlos Gu raised eyebrows after sharing a video of Ghouri dancing with EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick backstage.

Carlos fuelled rumours by captioning the clip: “Fresh couple in the making”.

Prior to the split, Ghouri had firmly dismissed any concerns about the infamous “Strictly curse” affecting their relationship.

Speaking to The Sun, she had declared: “Andrew, to me, is the hottest man on this whole planet. Me and Andrew trust each other 100 per cent.”

She had been confident their relationship would survive her time on Strictly, stating: “It’s not a make-or-break for us. We’re going to breeze through this because we’re going to marry each other one day, you know?”

The dancer added: “It doesn’t bother us at all. We didn’t have a discussion about ‘the Strictly curse’ because we trust each other.”
