Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were given secret nicknames by Spotify staff during their time producing podcasts for the streaming giant, royal correspondent Neil Sean has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex was dubbed ‘Eva’ after a demanding character in the 1955 film ‘Queen Bee’, while Prince Harry was nicknamed ‘Tim Nice But Dim’, referencing Harry Enfield’s famous comedy character.

The couple were unaware of these behind-the-scenes monikers while working on their multi-year deal with Spotify, which ended in 2023 after producing just 12 episodes of the Archetypes podcast.

Meghan’s nickname was inspired by Joan Crawford’s character Eva Phillips in ‘Queen Bee’, a film about a manipulative socialite, according to Sean.

“This wasn’t an engaging pet nickname… like the Joan character, she stung her victims to pieces. This is exactly how staff felt about working alongside her,” Sean told Fox News.

Staff reportedly found it “really difficult” to work with the duchess, citing her bossy demeanour.

Sources said that Meghan, 43, would only “speak to the person at the top” during production.

Prince Harry’s nickname referenced the popular 1990s comedy character ‘Tim Nice But Dim’ which was created by Harry Enfield.
