Drivers who are still hesitant about switching to an electric vehicle can make use of a new offer from Spanish brand Cupra to return the Born EV after three months if they’re not convinced.
The Cupra Born can now be purchased by people who are considering their first electric vehicle, even though they still have concerns about whether an electric car will fit their lifestyle.
Cupra said the new scheme offers “peace of mind” for motorists to live with an electric vehicle along with the convenience and cheaper running costs.
The offer, named “Love Me or Leave Me”, is available for motorists across all of the Cupra Born models, including the high-performance VZ model.

If after three months, the owner decides to hand back the Born EV, Cupra will return the deposit (subject to damage, excess mileage, etc.) whether the car was purchased outright or financed.
The entry-level Cupra Born V1 59 kWh e-boost 230 Auto starts from £35,495 and sees drivers benefit from a 264-mile battery range.
However, other offers could see a far greater battery range. The £44,625 VZ 79 kWh e-boost 326 Auto has a combined WLTP range of 366 miles, as well as a charging time of just 36 minutes (five to 80 per cent).
Marcus Gossen, Director of Seat and Cupra UK, said: “It is safe to say that the new scheme is ground-breaking and will give many drivers who have considered an electric car the impetus to make the leap.
“Cupra Born is already a compelling proposition, bringing performance, great range, sporty styling and an outstanding interior into one package that owners tell us they love.
“But, if the experience doesn’t suit their lifestyle and a driver doesn’t gel with EV ownership, they can hand the keys back after three months.”
Alongside the Love Me or Leave Me offer, Cupra has partnered with OVO to offer Cupra EV owners up to 10,000 complimentary miles when they add its Charge Anytime to an OVO energy plan.
This will allow them to charge at home for just 7p per kWh throughout the day and night. This will also see motorists receive a free Ohme EV charger for their homes.

According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Cupra has sold 22,881 vehicles so far this year, equating to 1.5 per cent of the total UK market share.
Cupra is not the only major car brand to offer drivers extra incentives to switch to an electric vehicle.
