During the outage, of those people who reported problems with the Lloyds banking app, 64 per cent said they were having issues transferring funds, while 23 per cent said the issue was with online banking.
The remaining 13 per cent said they were struggling with mobile banking.
Several frustrated users flocked to X to discuss the outage.
‘@LloydsBank we are now massively overdrawn as payments have gone out but all our standing orders paying money in haven’t gone arrived – assume you aren’t going to charge us penalties for this when it’s your system that is broken?!!’ one user tweeted.
Another added: ‘@LloydsBank I sent funds to my Lloyds bank account a hour ago and it still hasn’t been deposited normally it takes a few minutes.. what’s going on??’
And one vented: ‘@LloydsBank Can you confirm if you are experiencing an issue with funds transfers, as I have transferred funds from Metro bank to Lloyds which usually goes through instantly, and has not shown up in my account after 30 mins.
‘I’m also seeing posts from various other customers with the same issue.’
Unlike telecom companies, banks aren’t required to reimburse you when there has been a drop in services.
While Lloyds has not posted about the outage , it did reply to a customer on X (formerly Twitter ) to confirm that ‘some customers are having issues’

However, if you have incurred any costs as a direct result of the outage you might be able to get your money back.
For example, if you were unable to pay your bills or file your Self Assessment Tax return you might be able to claim back any fines you receive.
If you do encounter issues it’s worth keeping a careful record of what happens including any representative from the bank you speak to.
You should then be able to make a formal complaint via the Lloyds or Halifax websites.
If you’re unhappy with how the bank handles your case you can choose to escalate the issue to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
This independent body will consider the evidence you prevent and make a decision regarding your claim.
If you do lose any money due to this outage the Ombudsman could intervene on your behalf to force the bank to pay you back.
However, there is no guarantee of getting back any money you lose.
The news comes just days after Barclays experienced an outage, which left thousands of Britons unable to access their accounts on payday.
