Kate’s appearance today is her first official public outing since joining the Royal Family at the walk to Sandringham Church on Christmas Day.

However, it does not signal a return to the royal undertaking public duties.

The Princess of Wales is hoping “to join a few public engagements over the summer” but she will not attend Garter Day or Royal Ascot next week.

King Charles returned to public-facing duties in April and has been undertaking at times multiple engagement in a single week.

Last week, the King travelled to France to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William will host the Emperor and Empress of Japan later this month.

The Princess of Wales is not expected to take part in those engagements.
