Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has opened up about his mental health struggles as he shared an alternative remedy he has discovered.

It comes not long after reports of an unpaid loan led to suggestions that the 50-year-old would be forced to sell his house, which came from a “mystery” misunderstanding about his wife, Emma Gleave.

The Steve McDonald star, who has featured in the ITV soap for 36 years, has been candid in the past about his battles with anxiety.

Sharing an update recently, he advised his social media followers of an alternative to medication, explaining he wants to “help people who are going through the same thing.”

“It’s no secret that I suffer from anxiety, I’ve spoken about it many times,” he began in a recent Instagram video.

“I used to have prescription medication, I took that for a few years but I kind of fell out with it really.

“Towards the end, I started to feel medicated so I stopped it three years ago and everything was fine, but then the anxiety started to creep back in.

“So I’ve been searching for an alternative and for many years I’ve been hearing about CBD oil and how good it is.”

He went on to share that he has been trying Supreme CBD oils and gummies assuring fans he’d keep them updated on his progress.

“I just want to help people who are going through the same thing,” he explained.

The social media update comes soon after reports stated the actor would be forced to sell his home if he didn’t pay back a £250,000 loan he’d taken from his production firm.

Official papers showed he and his wife Emma would be required to repay Simon Gregson Productions £1,500 a month.

The paperwork stated the couple had separated, but sources close to the star recently confirmed Gregson and his wife were, in fact, still together.

Furthermore, Gregson recently posted a snap of his wife and children, captioning the post: “There’s 4 family members in this picture the 5th is taking the picture.”

The report claimed the soap star and his “estranged” wife had three years to pay back the debt, and an agreement meant failure to do so would mean they’d be selling their family home, The Mirror reports.

The publication explained the report read: “The Director had an overdrawn loan account of £252,824.

“The analysis also revealed that this money was removed from the Company’s bank account and paid into Mr Gregory’s joint bank account with his estranged wife.

“Therefore, any claim would be addressed to both individuals.”

The pair have been married for 14 years and share three sons.

While he hasn’t commented on the reports of the financial or marital claims himself, Gregson seemed in good spirits as he shared the update about CBD.
