Earl Charles Spencer praised Prince Harry for “securing an apology for his mother” in a statement following theDuke of Sussex’s court settlement with News Group Newspapers.

The late Princess Diana’s brother said that Harry’s mother would be “immensely touched” and “rightly proud.”

The statement read: “It takes an enormous amount of guts to take on major media organisations like this, and incredible tenacity to win against them.

“It’s wonderful that Harry also secured an apology for his mother – she would be immensely touched by this, I’m sure, and also rightly proud.”

Prince Harry has secured an apology for the late Princess Diana following his legal settlement with the publisher of The Sun.

The publisher offered a “full and unequivocal apology” for “serious intrusion into his private life as well as the private life of Diana, Princess of Wales, his late mother.”

The Duke of Sussex has claimed that the late Princess Diana “was probably one of the first” victims in the unlawful information gathering by the publisher of The Sun, claiming there was evidence she was hacked.

Earl Charles Spencer praised his nephew for the apology, that comes 27 years after the passing of his sister, the late Princess of Wales.
