When Wanda Nara announced last July that her 10-year relationship with footballer Mauro Icardi was over she may have thought she was closing the book on that chapter of her life.
Six months later, her divorce is still not finalised and her relationship with Galatasaray striker Icardi is more strained than ever. Things could not have gone much worse for the TV presenter and football agent.
Those who have followed Nara and Icardi’s story over the past decade may not be completely surprised. Their journey has been anything but straightforward, with the couple having very public fallouts before making up on multiple occasions. Why would we expect their divorce to go smoothly?
Well, one issue appears to have been that Icardi did not want a divorce in the first place. X-rated sex text messages that Icardi sent to Nara after she told him it was over went public earlier this week as part of their divorce proceedings, with the 31-year-old forward begging for his estranged wife to take him back.
But Nara was not in the forgiving mood, and decided to move on by starting a new relationship with Argentine rapper L-Gante.
The pair were first seen kissing in a music video in 2022, which left Icardi furious, and he does not appear to have been any happier this time around.

In response, Icardi began his own romance with actress and model China Suarez, who he allegedly cheated on Nara with while they were still together, and Nara is convinced he is out for revenge after she walked away from him.
In a recent appearance on the Argentine TV show LAM, Nara revealed Icardi vowed to ‘destroy’ her when she asked for a divorce, as she claimed he had now bought her dream house – a $4m (£3.3m) mansion in Argentina that she had planned to share with Icardi when he retired – for him and Suarez to live in.
‘Seeing this woman uploading photos in the house I dreamed of for my daughters breaks my soul,’ Nara said.
‘That house is mine because Mauro bought it when we were married. In Argentina there is no division of property. That house will be my daughters’ and mine too. This is not a separation, it is a constant provocation.’
But Icardi has no intention of sharing the house with Nara, and according to Paparazzi.com, he has already given Suarez permission to decorate the property to their own taste.
If that wasn’t enough heartbreak for Nara, she also spent Christmas away from the two daughters that her and Icardi co-parent.
Francesca, 9, and Isabella, 8, spent the festive period with their father and Suarez, who has three children of her own from two previous relationships, and Nara has accused her estranged husband’s new girlfriend of trying to turn her daughters against her.
‘Someone who helped them in a toy store wrote to me and told me: “I’m with these girls because their mother abandoned them”,’ Nara revealed.

‘That’s a huge lie. I never abandoned my daughters. I didn’t see them because Mauro didn’t sign the authorisation for me to leave the country with them. He decided to keep the girls so they wouldn’t be with me at the parties.
‘Before China, our life was perfect. When I asked for a divorce, he swore to me that he was going to destroy me. Now he is carrying out his threats, using my daughters and allowing this woman to say things as serious as that I abandoned them.
‘I never thought that anyone would lend themselves to something like that, and even less a mother.’
After not being around her children at Christmas and having Icardi’s new relationship rubbed in her face, Nara delivered more bad news last weekend when she confirmed that her and L-Gante had gone their separate ways.
Posting on Instagram, she explained that she had made the difficult decision to focus on her children amid her messy legal battle with Icardi.
In a now-deleted Instagram Story showing her and L-Gante holding hands, Nara wrote: ‘Today our paths are going our separate ways, so that we can take care of ourselves and focus on our work and our family.
‘My complex and painful legal situation made me take this decision. Today my children need me and my time is totally dedicated to them.’

Nara is now single again, while Icardi appears to be enjoying life with Suarez and his children.
But Nara has insisted she will not give up her fight to come out the other side of her divorce hell with her head held high.
‘I will not remain silent,’ she vowed on LAM. ‘This woman has already caused harm to other families, but she will not be able to do so with me. I am speaking on behalf of all the women whose lives she ruined.
‘Everything I do is for my daughters, so that they know that I always chose them, even if others want to dirty me.’
