Marshals were required to chaser the reptile and usher it to safety after it disrupted proceedings.

McLaren’s Lando Norris finished in first place in final practice, 0.479 seconds ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell.

Oscar Piastri, meanwhile, finished third ahead of Max Verstappen in fourth.

Charles Leclerc was in fifth, with Carlos Sainz sixth and Lewis Hamilton seventh.

Lando Norris finished in first place during final practice ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix

Verstappen currently leads the driver standings with 313 points ahead of Norris, who has 254 points.

The Singapore Grand Prix will get underway at 1pm UK time on Sunday.
