Fans were left unimpressed by Angel Reese’s performance in an Unrivaled game on Monday night as a video of her missing layups went viral.

Reese, who is playing in the 3-on-3 league ahead of the WNBA season in May, recently threatened to boycott the W if if the league does not meet players’ demands for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

And fans remembered those remarks as she struggled offensively against Vinyl BC, with a video on X showing her missing four shots down low, some of which were closely contested by defenders.

While her team won 74-46 on the night, Reese shot just 5-13 for 10 points, and fans mocked her over her previous boycott comments.

‘She gotta be worth at least 25-30/year. Not million,……. cents,’ one said.

What are we going to do if she sits out this coming WNBA season?,’ another sarcastically asked.

‘But she wants to be paid more,’ a third said.

And a fourth asked, ‘How does one get to the WNBA playing like this? Doesn’t seem like it should be possible.

Others came to the defense of the Chicago Sky star, who is playing for Rose BC in Unrivaled.

‘Slow day? I can go find a clip of [Nikola] Jokic missing contested layups too,’ one fan said.

‘Where is the rest of her team??,’ another asked. ‘In every one of these plays her teammates are nowhere to be found. Why isn’t a guard breaking to the corner or slashing to the opposite block for an easy lay in? Do they know how basketball works??’

Reese’s most recent performance for Rose BC comes after she threatened to boycott the WNBA while speaking on her own podcast.

While the average salary for Unrivaled players is said to top $200,000 for the eight-week season, Reese is set to make just under $75,000 playing for the Sky in 2025, according to Spotrac.

The former LSU star signed a four-year, $324,383 rookie scale contract after being drafted last year.

Reese and her WNBA colleagues will hope their pay goes up after they negotiate a new CBA (the players’ union opted out of the current one in October), which will take effect for the 2026 season.

But she said on her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast that players could skip games if negotiations go awry.

‘If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,’ she said, while talking to fellow WNBA player Dijonai Carrington.

The league also announced a new 11-year TV rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime and NBCU in July.

The contract is worth about $2.2billion, or $200million annually per multiple reports, and is set to begin in 2026.
