The Buffalo Bills suffered an agonizing defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game – which has cost Dave Portnoy a fortune.

Before the Bills faced the Chiefs at Arrowhead on Sunday night, Portnoy revealed he had placed a staggering $1million on Buffalo to win the Super Bowl this season.

The Barstool Sports founder wrote on X: ‘Here is a 3 team parlay for today. But I gotta be honest. My only focus is the Bills winning today cause I got a milly on them to win the Super Bowl.’

Unfortunately for Portnoy, however, Josh Allen was unable to inspire the Bills to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994 after slumping to a dramatic 32-29 loss in Kansas City.

At the start of the fourth quarter he was left seething when Buffalo was controversially deemed to have missed out on a potentially crucial first down, accusing NFL referees of ‘cheating’ to help Kansas City.

Portnoy shared a photo of the moment in the game and said: ‘Insane. #nflrigged’.
