Low-cost airline Wizz Air will scrap flights within months, affecting two major airports in the UK.
The budget airline will ditch routes operating to both Birmingham and Liverpool following reduced demand.
Wizz Air will cease all flights from the two British destinations to Cluj-Napoca in Romania as of March 27th. The unofficial Transylvanian capital used to have routes to both UK airports with the airline.
Dozens of flights to and from six airports in Romania will be suspended during the summer season, Travel Wires reported.

The news outlet explained that several flights operating across Europe are ceasing due to a “reduced demand for certain destinations and changes in the travel market”.
The six airports in Romania affected by the cancellations will be:
- Bucharest
- Cluj-Napoca
- Craiova
- Iasi
- Timisoara
- Targu Mures
A connection between Cluj-Napoca and Liverpool which was previously suspended will not resume.
Earlier this year, Wizz Air announced it was adding more routines to its operation list to benefit football fans.
The additional flights, which are due to start running in June, will be introduced to get fans to the European Football Championship matches in Germany.
The flights will run between London Luton and Dortmund, Frankfurt and Cologne.
Communications manager of Wizz Air Zsuzsa Trubek said: “The flight schedules have been specifically adapted to the dates of the blow matches, making it easier for fans to travel to and from the games.”
It comes as new routes have been announced from London with British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair.
