MAGA favorite Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene signaled she could have ambitions to run for higher office as President Donald Trump loyalists move to lock in control in Washington.
The Georgia congresswoman and close ally of the president sat down for a taping of the ‘Politically Georgia’ podcast where she was asked about her future plans.
Greene acknowledged she is thinking about challenging Democratic Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff who is up for reelection next year in the battleground state.
She is also considering a bid for governor as current Republican Governor Brian Kemp is term limited.
‘Of course I’m considering all possibilities. No decisions have been made, but I would be telling a lie if I didn’t say I wasn’t considering it,’ Taylor Greene said when asked about both options.
The congresswoman made a national name for herself as a member of the MAGA movement for her disruptive approach in Washington.
Greene has turned heads and raised eyebrows for promoting outlandish conspiracy theories, attacks on Democratic colleagues, and interrupting President Joe Biden.
She has also been known to pick fights with Republican congressional leaders, but her combativeness has made her a favorite with the Trump base who treat her as a MAGA celebrity.

With Republicans taking a trifecta in Washington – President Trump in the White House and a GOP controlled Congress – Greene could wield some real power on Capitol Hill over the next two years.
She was recently named chair of a DOGE subcommittee in the House which was created to work with billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to help cut spending and find government waste.
When asked which between the Senate seat or governor’s office was more appealing, Greene said she was ‘not really sure’ just yet.

Democratic Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff is up for reelection in the 2026 midterms
Ossoff is expected to face one of the toughest reelection bids next year as he looks to keep the Georgia Senate seat blue in the midterms.
The young senator flipped the seat for Democrats in 2020 when he ousted Republican Senator David Perdue.
That year, Georgia also elected Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in a special election and President Biden won the state in the presidential election.
Warnock was able to keep his Senate seat for Democrats in the 2022 midterms after a tough race against GOP candidate Herschel Walker who was backed by Trump.
But the state flipped back to red in the 2024 presidential election, and the 2026 Senate race there is considered one of the biggest ones to watch for the upcoming midterm cycle.
Some Republicans are calling for term-limited GOP Governor Brian Kemp to run for the Senate next year in Georgia
Some Republicans in Washington including National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chair Tim Scott have been calling for Kemp to throw his name in the ring for the Senate seat.
Scott called the popular outgoing governor his ‘number one recruit.’
If Kemp and Greene both ran, the race could get ugly as Trump and his fiercest supporters have gone after Kemp in the past for not helping overturn the 2020 election.
But Greene remained diplomatic on Kemp running for the Senate during her podcast interview.
‘I think Gov. Kemp would be a very solid candidate,’ she said.
