The 1% Club fans were dismayed as two contestants fell at the first hurdle in failing to answer the ITV quiz show’s first question on Saturday night.
Host Lee Mack was forced to commiserate the pair after going out on the 90% Question.

He posed: “Which of these does not make a word when the letters are placed in reverse order?”
“A) Stun, b) dust, or C) snub,” were the options given to the contestants, which viewers on social media quickly branded one of the show’s “easiest” questions.
Fans playing along at home quickly flooded the show’s X hashtag with the correct answer of B, dust – as stun spelt nuts and snub read as buns backwards.
“Surely NO ONE will go out on this! #The1PercentClub,” one wrote ahead of the reveal.

Yet two unlucky contestants did fumble the answer and were marked with a humiliating blue light, a new feature fans had previously criticised as “jarring”.
Alina, one of the unfortunate pair, admitted she had been confused about what the question was asking when speaking with Mack.
“If someone get the first question wrong, I’ll be gobsmacked. Okay, I’m gobsmacked. #The1PercentClub,” one wrote humorously.
Another chuckled, alongside a laughing emoji: “Stud! Had to be one”
“You are joking me 2 got that wrong, rofllllllllllllll (rolling on the floor laughing) #The1PercentClub,” a third exclaimed.
A fourth asked: “How the fudge do you get that wrong? #The1PercentClub.”

By the end of the show, contestant Matthew managed to complete the infamous 1% Question and went home with a huge £99,000 jackpot.
