Texans running back Joe Mixon took aim at Rex Ryan as Houston celebrated victory over the Chargers with a cigar in the locker room.

Ryan, the former Jets and Bills coach who now works as an analyst for ESPN, made headlines with a controversial prediction for the Texans-Chargers Wild Card clash.

The 62-year-old, who has been interviewed over a return to the New York Jets, sensationally claimed the Chargers’ visit to Houston represented a ‘bye week’ for Jim Harbaugh’s side.

‘I never realized the Chargers got a bye, that they qualified for a bye,’ Ryan said. ‘But they did because they’re playing Houston.’

Instead it was the Texans who reached the divisional round with a blowout 32-12 win at NRG Stadium.

After the game, head coach DeMeco Ryans and his team trolled Ryan in the locker room. ‘How was that bye week?’ the coach asked his players sarcastically.

Mixon then lit up a cigar in the locker room and began filming a live video on Instagram.

‘We smoking on that Rex Ryan bye week pack,’ Mixon said to the camera, while one of his teammates cackled.

‘Come on Rex!’ Mixon continued before urging Texans fans to enjoy the win. ‘H-town, we lit tonight! Turn this up!’

The running back rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown in the win against Los Angeles and afterwards he addressed ‘outside noise’ such as Ryan’s comments.

‘It is what it is. Everybody has an opinion. When it comes down to it, it’s between the white lines, it’s the playoffs. All that matters is put your best s*** on tape,’ he said.
