Tesla has finally unveiled its longest-range Model 3 to date as it looks to cement its foothold on the European market and entice motorists to switch.
The new Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive has been added to Tesla’s line-up in Europe with an official WLTP battery range of 436 miles (700km).
The upgraded Model 3 has a consumption rate of 20.1kWh per 100 miles or 12.5kWh per 100km, making it one of the most efficient Tesla vehicles ever built.
Tesla stated that the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is the most efficient EV available in Europe today, as well as having the best price-to-range ratio on the UK electric vehicle market.

Data shows that the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive can travel a full kilometre with the same amount of energy it takes to heat a frozen meal in a microwave.
Drivers can make further savings when using an EV-friendly tariff, like Octopus Go at 7p per kWh, meaning owners charging at home driving 10,000 miles a year would spend less than £150 a year on charging.
In total, this would cost around £140.82 for the updated Model 3, while the equivalent petrol vehicle would spend around £1,800 per year on fuel. Over four years, EV drivers could save £6,380.
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is now available in the United Kingdom starting at £44,990, although prices start at £39,990.
Customer deliveries in Europe of the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive will begin in November, with further information available on its website.
The car comes equipped with premium features including sound-dampening materials, a state-of-the-art audio system and the wildly popular infotainment screen with a host of services available at the tap of a button.
In addition to these features, motorists can make use of the Tesla Supercharger network with more than 50,000 chargers around the world and 10,000 across Europe.
Data from Zapmap suggests there are 1,681 Tesla Superchargers around the UK, having more chargers than the likes of Fuuse, Osprey, Mer and the Evolt Network.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Tesla is the best-selling EV-only manufacturer in the UK.
In the year-to-date so far, Tesla has sold 36,160 cars in the UK, representing 2.39 of the total new vehicle market share.
While this is an almost nine per cent drop compared to the same time last year, Tesla’s electric vehicle progress has been hailed by industry experts.
Tesla has also sold more vehicles in the UK so far in 2024 than popular brands including Mini, Honda, Jaguar and Citroen.

In September 2024 alone, 7,656 Tesla vehicles were sold, representing a 19.12 per cent growth for the brand compared to last year and 2.78 per cent market share.
The Tesla Model Y was the fourth most popular new car model in September after vehicle sales were boosted by the introduction of new number plates. The Model Y is also the ninth most popular vehicle of the year to date.
