Fresh analysis of police data suggests that foreign criminals are up to twice as likely to be arrested on suspicion of committing crime as Britons.
The arrest rate for foreign nationals averaged 22.2 per 1,000 of their population compared with 10.3 per 1,000 for British citizens holding UK passports, according to figures from 26 of the 43 police forces in England and Wales and census data.
This is one of the first attempts to compare arrest rates according to people’s nationalities and immigration status as the Government does not publish analysis of crime figures.
Britain also has more illegal migrants than any other European nation.
A major study by experts at the University of Oxford found there are up to 745,000 illegal migrants in the UK, accounting for one in 100 of the population.
Speaking about the Government restricting crime data from the public, political commentator Matt Goodwin described it as “outrageous.”
Speaking on X, Goodwin said: “Many other countries collect data on how mass migration impacts crime, welfare, & the economy.
“But the UK refuse to do this or do but don’t share it with YOU, the taxpayer.
“You should write to your MP, cite my piece below & say: ‘Give us the data!'”
