Rugby legend Dan Biggar has revealed Prince William gave him a ‘bit of stick’ after the duo recently watched Monaco beat Aston Villa in the Champions League.
The Ligue 1 side won 1-0 last Tuesday, with Wilfrid Singo netting the only goal of the game.
William was in attendance for the fixture at the Stade Louis II, with his beloved Villa side needing to win tonight – and for other results to go their way – in order to automatically qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Biggar, speaking to the Daily Mail, has now opened up on their time together.

And the Welsh rugby icon has admitted that William gave him a ‘bit of stick’ to ensure he wasn’t cheering on Monaco, as a Manchester United fan.
He said: “In years gone by, I’d have spent the week before the start of the Six Nations getting ready for the brutal physical and mental challenge that is international rugby’s greatest tournament.
“But last Tuesday, instead of preparing to join the Wales camp, I found myself discussing Warren Gatland’s future with Prince William and Prince Albert of Monaco while watching Aston Villa in the Champions League!
“The billionaire owner of Monaco was also at the Louis II Stadium. I’m not sure what he made of a bloke from the Gower…

“I met Prince William several times during my Wales career. But this is the first Six Nations where I feel very much retired from Tests.
“William gave me a bit of stick, making sure I wasn’t supporting Monaco as he’s a big Villa fan.
“Even though I’m a Manchester United supporter – which is tough going at the moment – I was in the Villa camp that night.”
As the start of the Six Nations looms, pressure is mounting on Wales coach Warren Gatland.

They’re currently on a dire run, having not won a match since their victory over Georgia in the group stages of the 2023 World Cup.
Biggar admits that Gatland must start turning things around, and fast, in order to keep his job.
And he’s also admitted that he’s ‘annoyed’ at talk that they’re building towards the 2027 World Cup, rather than focusing on the now.
“If even Prince William admits it’s tough times in Welsh rugby right now, then you know it’s not great,” he continued.

“It’s a huge Six Nations for Warren and the team.
“I don’t think the Welsh rugby public will stomach it if the losing run extends to 14, 15 or 16 games. The apathy will grow.
“Welsh rugby is already falling behind football and that will only get worse if the national side can’t win.
“That’s why the round two match with Italy in Rome is so huge. If Wales lose that, it may well spell the end for Warren’s second stint as coach.

“Warren survived the review into his position at the end of last year. But it’s clear Wales need to start winning, even if there are all sorts of problems in the country’s pathway systems.
“There’s been a lot of talk about building towards the 2027 World Cup. If I’m honest, I really dislike that narrative. It annoys me.
“International rugby is not solely about a World Cup every four years, and the reality is that if Wales keep losing and drop further down the World Rugby rankings, then they’ll struggle to reach the latter stages in Australia in 2027 anyway.”
