Water leaked in from the ceiling as Ruben Amorim gave his post-match press conference.

Fresh off a dramatic comeback win over Man City and a spirited display against Spurs in the EFL Cup midweek, United produced a dismal performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.

Andoni Iraola’s side dominated proceedings at Old Trafford, with goals from Dean Huijsen and Antoine Semenyo either side of Justin Kluivert penalty securing a comfortable win for the visitors.

Speaking following the game Amorim lamented his side’s ‘nervous’ performance, and insisted they will ‘have to suffer again,’ as he continues his ambitious rebuild.

However, the club’s struggles on the pitch may not be the only issue the Amorim needs to contend with as he attempts to restore United to their former glory.

A clip shared by Samuel Luckhurst on social media showed water appearing to leak through the ceiling while the Portuguese conducted his post-match press conference.

The incident comes mere months after urgent remedial works were conducted at Old Trafford following the club’s defeat against Arsenal.

During the closing stages of the game, a fierce thunderstorm swamped the 114-year-old stadium, where water could be seen pouring from one corners of the ground.

Videos on social media showed a flood pouring under seats and even where the players’ tunnel meets the dressing-rooms.

United said that 1.6 inches of rain fell in two hours after the final whistle but supporters of both clubs left the stadium safely.
