Royal Family LIVE: King Charles arrives at Macmillan Cancer Centre in London as he returns to public-facing duties alongside Queen Camilla following his own diagnosis
The King will today return to public duties after doctors said they were pleased with his progress following cancer treatment earlier this year.
Charles, who has been patron of Macmillan Cancer Support for more than 20 years, will make a trip to a treatment centre on Tuesday.
He will be accompanied by the Queen, who is president of cancer support charity Maggie’s.

King becomes new patron of Cancer Research UK
King Charles has agreed to become the new patron of Cancer Research UK, it can be announced today.
The monarch will be able to bring his experience to the position having undergone treatment for an unspecified form of cancer this year.
One of the charity’s research centres is based at University College Hospital where the King and Queen Camilla are visiting this morning.
MailOnline understands the hosptial was not chosen because it has a link with the King’s treatment or form of cancer, which has not been disclosed.

On Friday, Buckingham Palace released an update on the monarch’s health to say he was responding positively to treatment and would be returning to engagements although his diary will remain “carefully calibrated”.
