Richard Hammond has yet to visit his Grand Tour co-star Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which opened its doors last year.
The 55-year-old presenter didn’t hide his plans to visit and “get banned” in a recent interview as he vowed to follow in James May’s footsteps.
The trio have been friends and co-stars for decades, with May, Clarkson and Hammond having starred in Top Gear together from 2002 to 2015 before launching The Grand Tour.
The Amazon Prime series saw the duo reuniting for more car adventures from 2016, with the latest series wrapping up in 2024.
Each have their own business ventures going on – both May and Clarkson have their respective pubs, which Hammond commented on during an interview on Friday. When asked if May still has his pub, Hammond admitted: “I don’t know, I guess so”.
Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, he elaborated: “I went there. I’ve been to his, but I haven’t yet been to Jeremy’s. I’m always asked.”

“So you went to James May’s pub, did you have to buy a drink?” Moyles probed.
“Yeah, I had to pay for it,” Hammond replied. When asked about not visiting Clarkson’s Oxfordshire establishment, Hammond joked that he hoped to be banned.
“No, I haven’t. I want to go and get banned,” he announced, leading Moyles to respond: “Right, ok.”
“So I’ve got to summon the energy to do that,” Hammond reflected.
It comes as just weeks after it was announced Hammond and his wife Amanda Etheridge confirmed their split after 23 years of marriage.
Earlier in January, Hammond shared a statement on his social media to announce the shock update.
Taking to X, the car enthusiast penned: “A little update from us; this Christmas we were together as a family and this year we will still be a family but just structured a bit differently.
“Our marriage is coming to end, but we’ve had an amazing 28 years together and two incredible daughters.
“We will always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we created.”
He rounded off the statement by revealing this is the last he’ll be saying on the matter: “We won’t be commenting further and sincerely hope that our privacy and that of our children will be respected at this time.”

Despite the nature of the statement, Hammond and his estranged wife signed off the statement together, writing: “With Love, Richard and Mindy.”
