A Colombian reggaeton star brought the heat during a recent festival performance – but perhaps not in the way he wanted to.

Footage of Sunday night’s show in the south-central city of Neiva captured the moment Reykon’s hair and back were set on fire by a flame machine.

The 37-year-old, whose real name is Andrés Robledo, can be seen singing to the crowd when the flames shot out of the stage prop and briefly set his hair on fire.

The urban music performer paused for a moment to brush off his left arm, but somehow managed to finish off his show.

A separate video showed paramedics checking Reykon’s skin, which showed signs of burns on his back.

Fellow artists and fans made light of Reykon’s stage on social media while calling on the event staff to be extra cautious.

‘The bro almost became a Super Saiyan,’ local reggaeton artist Yeziel quipped.

Fellow Colombian singer Yumy added: ‘Next song: You got me on fire.’

‘The terrible truth, the person in charge must take responsibility,’ Dayan Chacón wrote. ‘The flames were at a low height, second (they have) to see where the artist is and (they) still activate the flames. (It’s) very seriously.’

One social media user likened Reykon’s accident to the time Michael Jackson’s hair was caught on fire while filming a commercial for Pepsi in 1984 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Although the flames were promptly extinguished, the King of Pop was treated for second and third degree burns.

The ‘fiery’ incident was Reykon’s second mishap since March when he nearly poked his eye with a tube while filming a TikTok video.

In the video clip, the singer lip-synchs ‘301,’ a song he recorded 12 years ago with fellow Colombian star singer Karol G, and as he gets closer to the camera lens he bumps into a metal pipe.

The freak accident left him with multiple scratches near his right eye.
