Real Betis opted for an unconventional approach to announce Isco’s contract extension with the club.
Isco, who joined the LaLiga team in the summer as a free agent after terminating his contract with Sevilla in December 2022, initially signed a one-year deal with Betis.
However, he has now committed to a long-term stay, extending his contract until 2027.
Isco has been a key player for Betis this season, making 23 appearances and starting in 17 of the 18 league matches, contributing to the team’s current seventh position in the table.
While it is typical for clubs to showcase their editing skills for viral videos and images when announcing new transfer signings, Betis took a different approach.

Isco has put pen to paper on a new deal running until 2027 at the Seville-based club
Isco has played for exclusively Spanish clubs, including Valencia, Malaga and Real Madrid
In a video shared on their social media, an actor dressed as Ali G, a character played by Sacha Baron Cohen in the film ‘Ali G Indahouse,’ takes centre stage.
The actor, situated in a bright yellow car with number plates reading ‘FOREVER GREEN’ and ‘ANNOUNCE,’ recreates a scene from the movie where Ali G drives around rapping to M-Beat and General Levy’s song ‘Incredible.’
Instead of the original lyrics, the actor raps ‘Betis, Betis!’ as he navigates the streets of Seville.
The video continues with the actor pulling up to Betis’ home ground, Estadio Benito Villamarin, pretending to nearly crash into another car while attempting to park.
In a comedic exchange, he shouts, ‘What are you doing bruv? Are you mad?’ before Isco emerges, revealing a shirt with his name and ‘2027’ on the back.
Despite the initial humour, Ali G’s demeanour changes to a smile as Isco, playing for his fifth senior club at the age of 31, takes the spotlight.
Isco’s career has seen him exclusively play for Spanish sides, starting at Valencia before moving on to Malaga and Real Madrid, where he achieved significant success with three La Liga titles and five Champions League triumphs before departing in 2022.
