If affected, they should “turn off the laptop and unplug the AC adapter immediately”.
These adapters pose significant safety concerns, prompting swift action to protect users from potential hazards.
Indeed, the OPSS stated: “It has been identified that the laptop AC adapters can overheat and spark, presenting a risk of fire and burns.”
According to the Government organisation, the adapters do not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Owners can verify if their adapter is affected by using Dynabook’s manual checker tool, which will confirm eligibility for a replacement.
The checker includes detailed guidance on how to locate your adapter’s part and serial number.
Affected customers can access the Dynabook recall page for further information about the replacement process.
