GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker has highlighted a contradiction in recent royal statements about the Princess’s activities, following her first solo engagement of 2025.

The Princess of Wales visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London to personally thank staff who cared for her during her cancer treatment.

In a statement following the visit, the princess said the care she received at The Royal Marsden was “exceptional”, and it is “a relief to now be in remission”. She added that her focus now remains on “recovery”.

Speaking to GB News from the hospital, Cameron Walker noted that international travel is currently “off the table” for the Princess, which he says contradicts Prince William’s statements from November.

The Princess herself had acknowledged in September that she “wasn’t out of the woods yet” with her recovery.

Cameron told GB News: “So keeping each day as it comes, but international travel for now is off the table, which does contradict what Prince William told us in November.

“They are saying that it’s going to be a gradual return to public duties for the Princess of Wales. And of course, she said she still has good days and bad days with her health.”

The visit allowed Kate to personally thank staff for their “exceptional care and compassion” during her treatment journey.

Cameron revealed that during her visit, Kate shared “emotional moments” with patients, including discussions about managing family life during treatment.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

When one patient praised her handling of the children during her recovery, Kate responded that it was “so kind” but emphasised that “all treatment is different and all families respond differently to it”.

Cameron added: “She hugged patients at the end, saying that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that you are in the best possible hands. It was a very emotional moment.

“I think the photographs tell their own story here, but royal sources are still remaining very cautious and urging us to be cautious with the princess’s ongoing recovery.”

Cameron noted the appointment of Prince William and Princess Kate’s joint patronage of the hospital carries a “poignant royal connection”, as Diana, Princess of Wales, was the hospital’s first royal patron.

Cameron stated: “It has a quite poignant royal link because it was Diana, Princess of Wales, Prince William’s mother, who was first the royal patron of this hospital.

“Then, of course, Prince William was president, and now he is joint patron alongside the Princess of Wales, who visited here earlier today.”

During her visit, Kate remarked on entering through the hospital’s front entrance, noting it was “nice” after numerous secret visits through the back entrance during her 2024 treatments.

The Princess’s new patronage alongside her husband marks another significant step in the hospital’s long-standing relationship with the Royal Family.
