The Royal Family has been encouraged to “rely on” non-working members of the monarchy such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as the King and Princess Kate remain absent from key royal duties.

The Princess Royal is also not expected to return to duties for the “foreseeable future” after suffering a horse-related accident on her estate, and spent almost a week at a hospital in Bristol.

Speaking to GBN America, Commentators Lizzie Cundy and Lee Cohen called on the Royal Family to take Beatrice and Eugenie into the working fold, to help in the absence of three senior royals.

In praise of Beatrice and her recent work with Prince William at the Earthshot Prize engagements, Cundy said the Princess did a “marvellous job”.

Cundy revealed: “I was with her on Wednesday, and she filled in for Prince William at the Earthshot Prize Water Roundtable, while he hosted the Japanese Emperor.

“And she did a marvellous job. She was actually sitting, hugging and talking to everyone.”

Noting the health conditions of King Charles and Princess Kate, Cundy urged the Royal Family to “rely more” on not-so senior members of the family to help out in their time of need.

She told GBNA: “As we’re seeing with King Charles and Kate, we need to rely on Beatrice and Eugenie, and Zara Tindall too. They’re very popular and they’re really hard working.

“They’re independent, they have their own careers, but they love the Royal Family and they have a real sense of royal duty.”

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Agreeing with Cundy, Lee Cohen claimed that with the added strain of Princess Anne being forced to postpone and cancel several of her planned engagements, some of which were to step in for the King, the royals should question the practicality of their “slimmed down monarchy”.

Cohen explained: “When the Princess Royal had that terrible accident last week, I read that and the first thing I thought of was who is going to carry out these royal duties?

“The King had talked about slimming down the monarchy, but he couldn’t possibly have foreseen the sad health issues that were to come.”

In praise of Princess Beatrice, Cohen claimed the daughter of Prince Andrew has “never put a foot wrong”.

Cohen told host Nana Akua: “I think it makes complete sense, I’ve never seen Princess Beatrice put a foot wrong.

“She’s had her own life, she’s had her own career, and she’s a young mother. And those could be difficult transitions because she wasn’t groomed to be a working royal – but Kate wasn’t groomed to be a working royal.”

Cundy was in agreement with Cohen, concluding: “What I love about Beatrice and Eugenie is they love their mum.

“They’re very close, the three of them. And she is so gracious and she talks to everyone, and she really has the common touch.”
