Princess Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, has been pictured showing his support for his wife after her shock injury on Sunday as he arrived at hospital the morning after her third night of medical care.
Sir Tim, 69, turned up outside the Brunel Wing at Bristol’s Southmead Hospital just after 11.30am today – having earlier paid tribute to the “wonderful” emergency services who tended to the Princess Royal on June 23.
The former Royal Navy officer stepped out of a Range Rover carrying a small blue day bag before entering the hospital without speaking to the throng of reporters outside.
He had also spent time with his wife on Tuesday, as well as accompanying her when she was driven to hospital in the immediate aftermath of her run-in with a horse which left the 73-year-old concussed.
And leaving the hospital just before 2pm this afternoon, Sir Tim said the Princess Royal was “recovering slowly” from her injuries in what marked the latest update so far on her health.

Sir Tim had said yesterday that the princess was “doing fine, slow but sure” and was seen carrying a cool bag – which he revealed contained a “few little treats from home”.
Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, also travelled to see her the same day.
Sir Tim later added that the princess was “recovering well”.
“We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care – and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene.

“We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far… It means a great deal.”
As Zara exited the building towards her Mercedes yesterday, she smiled at reporters – but declined to comment on Anne’s condition with a wave.
Her mother had been walking in the bounds of the Gatcombe Park estate, where she’s lived for almost 50 years, when the incident took place late on June 23.
GB News understands that while out and about, the Princess Royal had sustained minor injuries consistent with those expected from an impact with a horse’s head or legs.

Emergency services had flocked to Gatcombe Park – including an air ambulance – though Anne did not require airlifting to Southmead, and made the 50-minute journey by road for appropriate treatment.
Sir Tim, her second husband whom she married in 1992, had travelled alongside her – while her children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, remained at the estate, where they had been when the incident took place.
A Buckingham Palace statement on Monday said: “The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening.
“Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”
