Prince William has sent a playful birthday message to Dame Mary Berry as she celebrates her 90th birthday today.
The Prince of Wales recorded a special video message for the beloved baker which will be featured on tonight’s edition of The One Show.
His birthday wishes form part of a special programme, “The One Show: Dame Mary Berry, A Celebration at 90,” dedicated to honouring the culinary icon.
The message was previewed earlier on Scott Mills’s Radio 2 show during an interview with One Show presenter Alex Jones.

In his heartfelt message, Prince William said: “Hi Mary. I want to wish you a very happy 90th birthday.”
He continued: “You are a true national treasure and we’ve loved working with you over the years.”
The Prince then added a cheeky comment about her birthday celebrations, saying: “Have a fantastic day today. I dread to think who’s cooking your cake and the criticism they might get, but good luck and I hope it goes really well.”
The playful jibe references Dame Mary’s reputation as a discerning judge of baking quality.

The Prince and Princess of Wales previously collaborated with Dame Mary on ‘A Berry Royal Christmas’, which aired on BBC One in 2019.
During the special programme, Princess Kate revealed that her kitchen is filled with Berry’s cookbooks.
During the Christmas special, Kate shared a touching anecdote about her youngest son, Prince Louis.
“One of Louis’s first words was ‘Mary,’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf,” Kate explained to Berry.

She added: “And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say ‘That’s Mary Berry.'”
Kate also revealed that she and her children frequently use Berry’s recipes, especially for homemade pizza.
“Yes, I really enjoy it. Again, for them to be creative, for them to try and be as independent as possible with it,” she said.
Royal fans can watch the full video message from the Prince of Wales, along with other tributes to the baking legend, later on this evening.
