Comedian Mindy Kaling has offered a glimpse into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s domestic life at their Montecito home, revealing the Duke of Sussex is quite handy in the kitchen.
Speaking at the 2025 Golden Globes, Kaling shared her observations whilst filming at the Sussexes’ residence.
The actress and comedian revealed that Prince Harry is a “pretty good cook”.
This hobby is shared by King Charles, who is known for his interest in food and cooking and has previously been described as a “food hero” by his stepson, Tom Parker Bowles.

Speaking on her experience whilst filming for Meghan’s new cooking and lifestyle documentary, Kaling said: “Harry was there.”
“He didn’t cook for me, but I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook.
“He knows his way around a kitchen.”

The couple now appear to share domestic responsibilities in their California home, with both taking an active role in household duties.
Meghan’s culinary prowess has been well-documented, with the Duchess set to showcase her skills in her new lifestyle documentary, “With Love, Meghan”.
The former actress previously shared her passion for cooking with Good Housekeeping in 2016, stating: “There is nothing as delicious as a perfectly roasted chicken.
“If you have an Ina Garten-level roasted chicken recipe, it’s a game changer. I bring that to dinner parties and make a lot of friends.”
The significance of roast chicken in the couple’s story extends beyond entertaining, as Meghan was preparing the dish when Prince Harry proposed at their former home, Nottingham Cottage.
The new Netflix series, launching on 15 January, will feature the Duchess preparing impressive meals for her famous friends.
Kaling also mentioned Meghan’s personal involvement in cultivating her own garden “from scratch”, despite the couple likely employing gardeners to help maintain their vast grounds.
Despite their hands-on approach to home life, the Sussexes likely maintain a support team at their Montecito property.
