Residents have been warned to keep their windows and doors closed as firefighters rush to tackle a ‘large blaze’ at a building.
The fire is thought to be at the abandoned Nations Club in Plymouth, Devon.
A video posted on X showed bright orange flames raging from a blue building.
The thick smoke could be seen rising high into the sky as firefighters tried to extinguish the massive blaze.
Around five fire engines and five police cars are reportedly on the scene.
Traffic was diverted around the area and motorists were told to avoid the road as firefighters tackled the fire.
Fire services said they were called to a building next to KFC at about 4.30pm where the first and second floor of the property was on fire.
A spokesperson said cylinders were involved which was ‘making it more difficult’ to control.

There was a ‘large amount of smoke coming from the roof’ and firefighters said they would be there for some time.
The cause of the huge fire is not currently known.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue posted on X: ‘Fire crews are tackling a large fire at a commercial building in Union Street, Plymouth.
‘Please keep your windows and doors closed and avoid the area if you live nearby as there is a lot of smoke coming from the building.’
