Nigel Farage once again butted heads with YouTube star Nella Rose during a tense exchange over the issue of cultural appropriation in the I’m A Celeb jungle.
A conversation about the Jamaican pronunciation of “water” as “wata” sparked a heated discussion.
Jamie Lynn began to ask questions before Farage got involved with the exchange.
He told Fred Sirieix: “If you said that, they’d call it cultural appropriation, Fred.”
The former Ukip leader continued suggesting that a white person could be “cancelled” if they “did a black accent”.
Farage added: “It’s when suits, they criticise when suits.
“If a white person does a black accent, that’s considered to be a crime. That they should be cancelled.”
Rose was quick to explain: “It depends on what context. If you’re taking the p*** then you’re taking the p***. But if you’re not, then you’re not.”
Farage then implied that if a person “dressed as Mexican” for a fancy dress party, the press would accuse him of “cultural appropriation.”
Rose responded: “You can’t use somebody’s culture as a fancy dress costume. The Mexican outfit is traditional to them. It’s been in their culture for decades.”
Farage said: “I do not know what the rules are Nella. I do not know.”
The argument ended with Rose branding Farage as “ignorant” and “deluded”.
Rose later admitted she was “saddened and disappointed” by his comments.
