Nestlé UK has confirmed it has axed Yorkie Orange bars after chocolate fans struggled to find them in stores.

This comes as it ditched two other chocolate treats earlier this year due to a drop in demand.

A chocolate fan took to social media to say they had not been able to find the bars all year, while another added they “just want an orange Yorkie”.

A third X user asked: “What’s happened to the orange Yorkies? They been out of stock all over West Yorkshire for months. When will they return?”

NESTLE

Nestlé replied to confirm they are no longer available. It said: “Unfortunately, Yorkie Orange has been discontinued from our range. We’ll definitely let the team know that you would like to see it back.

“Although sales of the limited edition Yorkie Orange were very good, there are no plans at present to introduce this product on a permanent basis.

“However, our marketing policy is constantly under review and your comments have been noted.”

The social media asked “why on earth has it been discontinued” and added they bought “500 of them”.

Nestlé confirmed the chocolate bar was discontinued last year but shoppers can currently try a limited edition Yorkie Honeycomb.

Manufacturers often test new flavours and discontinue old ones in response to customer demand and changing tastes.

Breakaway chocolate bars have been scrappedSAINSBURY’S

Earlier this year, it ditched two iconic chocolate bar flavours – the Breakaway and Yorkie Biscuit bars.

This was due to low demand and it stopped production of Breakaway bars in March this year.

Yorkie Biscuit bars were also removed, although the traditional Yorkie chocolate bars are “staying for good”.

Last year, it removed Caramac bars from shelves with fans sharing their disappointment online.
