A man has been fined for assault and criminal damage following an explosive row over a neighbour’s cat in Worcester.
Paul Boyden, 18, arrived home from the pub in a drunken state when he lashed out after noticing the pet.
The homeowner had been looking after the animal following the death of her neighbour.
The teenager was annoyed that the neighbour’s cat had been let into the house, Worcester Magistrates Court heard.

On February 18, Boyden, who was also noted as being in a bad mood, chucked himself at his neighbour and her partner.
The pair fell into the bathroom door, which took off its hinges.
Whilst the pair received bruises from the impact, no medical attention was required.
On March 13, Boyden pleaded guilty to two accounts of beating, one damage to property charge and resisting arrest.
MORE NEIGHBOUR ROWS:
Boyden was described as a “man of previous good character”, however, deputy district judge Steven Jonas stressed courts take a very serious view on domestic violence.
The teenager was 17 at the time of the incident, and this was taken into consideration during sentencing.
He was fined £111 in court fees for the incident.
The 18-year-old was also ordered to a discharge of six months – meaning a punishment will only be imposed if he commits another offence in this period.
