This is the shocking moment two brick-wielding thugs smashed into a suit shop to steal £6,000 of clothes through the window.

The pair, one of whom is seen riding an electric Lime bike to the store were caught on CCTV throwing bricks through the shop-front at 4am today at Batch LDN on Commercial Street, Spitalfields, east London.

They can be seen scouting out the area before one rode past and left two bricks outside the shopfront, despite a police car patrolling by nearly putting them off.

Thousands of pounds worth of items, 20 in total including 10 suits, were stolen in the space of 20 seconds before the duo cycled off with bulging bags.

Not to be too downhearted, Batch’s co-founder Samuel Matanle, 29, joked: ‘I’m quite pleased… The collection’s so nice people want to steal it.’

The goods, including Herringbone suits, were part of the store’s latest collection that had only been displayed for ten days before the theft.

Mr Matanle added: ‘When I arrived at the shop in the morning it was just like f***, a little part of me was relieved they hadn’t stolen everything.

‘It’s going to have a huge impact on sales as we’ll now need to get the suits remade which will take around four weeks.’

He revealed that police were doing a forensics report on the bricks, found by staff this morning on the shop floor.

‘This type of crime is on the rise in the area,’ Mr Matanle claimed.

A clip shared to the shop’s social media showed fellow co-founder Julian Osborne, 30, remarking: ‘That’s what happens when you hang expensive suits looking so good in the window.’

The post’s caption pleaded for their followers’ help.

‘First person to find one of these suits for resale and send us the details, we’ll offer a brand new suit to worth £595,’the caption read.

That is the same price as one of the 10 suits, which come in navy and brown, which were stolen last night.

The Met Police has been approached for a comment.
