Mike Tyson splashed his prize money from fighting Jake Paul in November by buying a $13million mansion on an exclusive Florida property.

The 58-year-old boxing legend returned to the ring at AT&T Stadium in Texas for an eight-round bout with Paul, 30 years his junior, in Netflix’s first live boxing event.

Despite losing the 16-minute snooze fest, and Netflix’s stream getting marred with glitches before the fight, Tyson reportedly pocketed $20m for his in-ring return.

Months later, The Mirror reported that a special warranty deed confirmed Tyson as the new owner of the Florida property and quoted his representative, Joseph Jonathan Schneider, on the purchase.

‘This has been a successful transaction with all the parties demonstrating professionalism and collaboration. The Tyson family has been a valued client and friend for many years, and it’s been a pleasure working with them,’ Schneider said.

The special warranty was filed on January 13 and lists Tyson’s and his wife, Lahika’s names. It also lists the final sale date for the 2.7-acre lot as January 8.

Realtor Matthew Maschler teased Tyson’s inquiry months after the Netflix boxing event

The property in the upscale Tierra del Rey Estates includes access to a private lake, according to the Palm Beach Post.

In November, realtor Matthew Maschler revealed that Tyson’s purchase was inspired by his daughter’s tennis career.

Tyson’s 16-year-old daughter Milan is a promising tennis prospect with Grand Slam connections. Milan is connected to Serena Williams, having trained with her former coach Patrick Mourtagolou in France.

‘Basically, the appeal to him is his daughter plays tennis, and she plays in Delray, so he wants to be able to fly in, go see his daughter’s tennis match, go back to his plane, and fly to wherever he came from,’ Maschler said on an Instagram post.

Iron Mikes’ newest property was off the market and not listed publicly before his purchase. However, months before the deal was closed, Maschler teased his inquiry on social media.

‘Did Mike Tyson Just Buy a Lot in Delray?’ he said early in his video.

Tyson indicated the Jake Paul fight would be the final chapter of his boxing career given the physical and emotional challenges he faced in stepping back into the squared circle.

‘This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,’ Tyson wrote on X after the fight. ‘No regrets to get in the ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25 pounds in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.’

Tyson held a 58-6 record in his professional career with 44 knockouts before retiring in 2005. He competed in a 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones before gearing up to fight Paul last year.
