Three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen has secured a convincing 6-1 victory over Englishman Chris Dobey to reach the World Darts Championship final.

The Dutchman produced an 11-darter in an electric start which saw him clinch the first set 3-1. He was then let off in a tense second set which saw Dobey miss three darts at double.

‘Hollywood’ got on the board with two big checkouts to clinch the third set, including a 170 finish.

Van Gerwen was three darts away from a nine-darter in the following set but turned on the style to restore his two-set lead, before extending his lead in the fifth and making it six straight legs. 

‘The Green Machine’ showed his impeccable timing once again by producing one of his finest legs of the match with the sixth set tied at 2-2. 

He then finished the job in the seventh to secure a dominant 6-1 win and reach a seventh world final.
