Michael J Fox has been spotted in a rare public outing in London, with the Back to The Future star seeming in good spirits.

Fox, 63, flashed a peace sign to the cameras as he was snapped in a wheelchair at the Chiltern Firehouse hotel.

The actor has been battling with Parkinson’s disease since 1991, and frequently advocates for awareness of the neurodegenerative disease.

The actor sported a pair of dark blue jeans and a red shirt, complete with blue trainers and a brown jacket.

In pictures obtained by The Mirror, he could be seen chatting with fans close to the luxury hotel.

It comes just months after his emotional speech at the 2024 BAFTAs, in which he presented the award for Best Film.

The actor stood up out of his wheelchair on stage as the crowds cheered before he gave the award to the Oppenheimer cast.

He stated: “Thank you very much. Five films are nominated in this category tonight. All five have something in common.

“They are the best at what we do. No matter who you are or where you’re from, these films can bring us together.

“There’s a reason why they say movies are magic, because movies can change your day. They can change your outlook, they can sometimes even change your life.”

Just last weekend, Fox penned a sweet tribute to his wife of 36 years, Tracy Pollan, as they celebrated her 64th birthday.

The couple met while starring together in Family Ties, and share four children together: Sam, 35, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, 29 and Esme, 22.

Posting snaps of the special day on his Instagram, Fox shared a photo of his wife alongside another of the pair of them together, with a caption that read: “In every beautiful way, it’s beautiful Tracy’s beautiful day.

“I love you and today will be magnificent. Always forever your Mike with so much love. Happy birthday. It’s gonna be an epic day.”

Fans were quick to share their well wishes and admire the pair as a long-standing couple.

Canadian-born Fox shot to global fame at the age of 24 when he starred in the Back to the Future films.

His condition has meant he had to official retire from acting in 2020, but he remains in the public eye campaigning for Parkinson’s.
