Meghan Markle has been urged to take a “leaf out of the Royal Family book” when using her social media, a PR expert has told GB News.
The Duchess of Sussex re-joined Instagram on New Year’s Day in a surprising U-turn.
She has since used the social media account handled @Meghan to promote personal and professional endeavours to her 2.5 million followers.
The Californian-non-working royal posted trailers and behind-the-scenes glances at her new Netflix show, leading the eight-part series to hold spots in Netflix’s global Top 10 Shows Overview list and charting in both the UK and US.

Edward Coram James, CEO of Go Up, told GB News that “Meghan should take a giant leaf out of the books of her extended family” when it comes to her social media strategy.
He added: “They are the masters of PR, with centuries of experience in it.
“To be fair to Meghan, I think that the penny has finally dropped on this, and that this advice has been absorbed by her.
“She’s coming across as much more friendly, much less serious, much more mature. And much more approachable. Another five years of this, and she’ll have turned the chapter.”
As well as promoting her Netflix show and upcoming podcast, Meghan also shares personal moments.
She often posts photos and videos featuring Prince Harry and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
The mother-of-two marked the first day of spring on Thursday with a post featuring the two young royals picking strawberries at their Montecito home.
The Sussexes have resided in the Californian region since 2020 shortly they announced they would be stepping back from their royals as senior working royals in January that year.
The image showed delicious-looking strawberries gathered in a metal wire basket, likely held by either Archie or Lilibet.
Though neither child’s face was visible in the photo, one of them could be seen holding up a strawberry towards the camera whilst gripping the container.
Meghan captioned the post: “Cheers to the first day of spring!”
It wasn’t the first time the Duchess of Sussex marked a significant day in the yearly calendar as the former actress issued a romantic message to Prince Harry on Valentine’s Day.
