Meghan Markle has been urged by a royal commentator to “confess” to alleged inaccuracies made against the Royal Family amid their ongoing feud.

It comes after the Duchess of Sussex, 43, announced her new podcast would be called “Confessions of a Female Founder.”

The duchess teased the new project, set to be released on April 8, in a professional update to her 2.5 million Instagram followers.

Meghan wrote: “I’m so excited to share with you something else I’ve been working on: ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,’ my new podcast with @lemonadamedia!”

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would step back from senior working duties in January 2020, the now Californian-based royals made several damming claims against members of the Royal Family.

Following the announcement of the podcast name, royal commentator Richard Fitzgerald urged the Sussexes to “deal with the inaccuracies she and Harry told about the Royal Family.”

The commentator said: “To what extent she will have success in featuring female entrepreneurs on the new podcast is uncertain since she had A-list guests including Serena Williams and Mariah Carey on Archetypes and it failed.

“If Meghan was making a real ‘Confessions of’ series, it should deal with the inaccuracies she and Harry told about the Royal Family.”

Fitzwilliams added: “As it is, she is trying to be considered an influencer. It is uncertain how many she will influence, other than her fans.”

Meghan and Prince Harry initially signed a multi-million dollar deal between their company, Archewell Audio, and Spotify in December 2020.

However, after a single season of Meghan’s debut podcast, their partnership ended in June 2023 with the streaming giant not renewing Archetypes for a second season.

The podcast ran for 12 episodes, from August 2022 to November 2022.

The new podcast will be available on Lemonada Media, a growing media organisation.

The company described the upcoming podcast as “a fly on the wall” in Meghan’s conversations with female founders.

In a statement, the company said: “In a new original podcast brought to you by Lemonada Media and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ invites you to be a fly on the wall as Meghan sits down for candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business.

“As Meghan herself navigates the world of entrepreneurship with the upcoming launch of her brand As ever, be inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders—from knowing your worth, to trusting your gut, securing investors, and investing in yourself.”
