Lifelong Meghan Markle fans were stunned in New York City when the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at their screening of her new Netflix show.

The Duchess, 43, shocked a group of her devoted followers in the big apple on the eve of her new show With Love, Meghan launching on the streaming giant’s platform.

These supporters had booked out a theatre to watch the opening episode and were filmed on Meghan’s Instagram story looking a gasp when she walked into the room.

The group had been following Meghan since the days of her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig and proudly showed off real tattoos that read ‘As ever’.

They also had special bottles of Tignanello wine, which inspired the Tig name, for the special occasion.

To celebrate the successful surprise, Prince Harry and Meghan’s children made her a special handwritten card and a bouquet.

It read: ‘Congratulations mumma! We love your show, and we love you!’ and was signed by ‘Lili, Archie [and] Papa.’

The former actress posted the video of her appearance at the watchalong event with the caption: ‘A surprise in the Big Apple tonight’.

Her surprise public appearance comes ahead of her new lifestyle series, which went live on Tuesday morning.

With Love, Meghan is a natural extension of The Tig, which was started in 2014 as a place for the Duchess to share her favorite food and travel discoveries.

Meghan announced she was shutting down the blog in 2017 as her relationship with Harry progressed.

Speaking ahead of the show’s release, the royal said the eight-part series had helped her to ‘find herself’ again.

But despite her huge 2million-strong following on social media, she insisted she instead saw as a ‘female founder’ and ‘entrepreneur’ rather than an influencer.
