Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been left red-faced as their own edited photos have been exposed following Kate’s Mother’s Day blunder.
Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex claimed on Tuesday that she would “never” make a photograph editing mistake like the Princess of Wales.
However, a previous Valentine’s Day image announcing Meghan’s pregnancy with Princess Lilibet was heavily edited.
A backdrop showing a giant willow tree was added by the photographer Misan Harriman, who later admitted: “It’s amazing what you can do with technology.”

He was asked on BBC Radio 3 podcast Private Passions: “They weren’t actually under a willow tree, but they were lying outside in a meadow, weren’t they, Harry and Meghan, when you took the photograph of them?”
The photographer replied: “Hmm, yeah. It really was a particularly joyous image to celebrate life itself.”
The duke and duchess have also had a previous Christmas card put on a “kill list” by a photo agency.
Harry and Meghan’s 2019 Christmas card photo featuring Prince Archie was recalled by the PA agency.

It is thought that the recall was because of uncertainty as to where the photo came from.
The couple’s representatives later confirmed its authenticity, and any editing was denied by Meghan’s pal Janina Gavankar, who took the photo.
It is not suggested the duke and duchess personally edited any of the photos.
Prince Harry has also been accused of having more hair in some pictures than he does in real life.

The pair’s Time Magazine cover in 2021 was branded by one critic as “the most airbrushed photo I have ever seen”.
Another joked: “How nice they gave Haz lots of new hair. Maybe he is a hair-growth influencer.”
Royal commentator Angela Levin said last night: “The Sussexes’ camp are huge hypocrites.
“A tree was doctored in their photograph to create a special backdrop so how dare their camp say anything about Catherine’s?”

The Princess of Wales apologised for editing her Mother’s Day family photo.
She wrote on X: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
An official spokesman for the Sussexes has denied making any comment about Kate’s Mother’s Day picture.
