Royal biographer Tom Bower has accused Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of “informing” Omid Scobie on his latest royal book.

Endgame, which was released in the UK today, is Scobie’s second royal book after Finding Freedom, which told the Duke and Duchesses story of leaving the royal family in 2020.

In the latest book, Scobie has been widely criticised for his many allegations against the royal family in a fresh attack on the monarchy.

Amongst the claims, it is suggested that two members of the royal household “expressed concern” for Meghan and Harry’s son Archie and the colour of his skin.

Tom Bower claims Meghan and Harry did inform Scobie on his latest book

The accusation was first made in the Sussexes bombshell television interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where the couple said just “one” member of the royal family had spoken to Harry about Archie before he was born.

Meghan had told Winfrey: “There were conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born”.

Speaking to Camilla Tominey on GB News, Tom Bower branded Scobie’s book Endgame a “rather risible and worthless book” and accused Meghan of feeding Scobie’s claims.

When asked by Camilla if Meghan and Harry have possibly informed their unofficial mouthpiece Scobie for the book, Bower claimed: “Of course they have.

“And what he does is he doesn’t actually talk to Meghan directly, as he didn’t for Finding Freedom. He talks to the press man or press woman.

“But the point about the current book is this. That Omid Scobie clearly has nothing new to say. All his silly stories like King Charles irons his shoelaces.”

In criticism of Scobie’s claims about Princess Kate, where he branded the Princess of Wales “lazy”, Bower fumed: ” I do find his attack on Kate really gratuitous, but of course that is very much Meghan speaking.

“He’s come up with two books. The press are all over it. We know from the first book there was Meghan speaking, and now we know it’s Meghan speaking again.

“And so this isn’t because the book contains amazing revelations. It doesn’t at all. But we know that he is the tool of the Sussexes. And as the tool of the Sussexes, he has done the best he can to blacken the royal family.”

Camilla then agreed, saying: “It’s basically depicting Kate as a Stepford wife that doesn’t have much use.”

Bower then stated: “She’s a wonderful woman. She’s doing a terrific job and he’s looking for headlines, and us sitting here is giving him headlines, but really he’s an incorrigible rascal who’s getting away with it.”
