Thomas Tuchel has handed Marcus Rashford an England recall in his first squad as Three Lions boss.
Rashford, 27, has rediscovered his form on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United and on Friday was selected by Tuchel.
His last cap came in March last year in a 15-minute cameo against Brazil at Wembley.
Rashford had been a mainstay for the Three Lions ever since making his debut in 2016 but missed out on the European Championship last summer – the only tournament he has missed since coming into the fold.
It was previously reported that Tuchel had contacted Rashford’s camp in November to let him know he was a huge admirer.
The Three Lions will begin their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup with matches against Albania and Latvia.

Tuchel said: ‘He’s had a huge impact lately in the matches at Aston Villa. I was delighted to see his effort on the ball and his effort to be the best team-mate possible and his consistent energy.
‘There is no doubt about his talent and about his quality, but to see him so decisive and so physically involved gave me the impression that it is the right moment to call him up and give him the extra push that he stays on that level.’
Despite criticism over the last 18 months, Rashford has shown that he is still a quality player when he has his confidence.
On Wednesday night he set up Marcos Asensio for one of his goals as Villa surged past Club Bruges to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Unai Emery said in February: ‘I am very happy keeping him here to try to help him recover his performances. His challenge with us exciting and mine is huge. The club worked well in the window.
‘I am happy with him and will try to get the best of him. He will try to play and train as a normal player.’
Jack Grealish, meanwhile, has not been named in Tuchel’s squad.
Grealish finds himself on the periphery of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side, having made just three Premier League appearances off the bench in 2025.
He made Lee Carsley’s final England squad, although he pulled out before the Nations League clashes with Greece and Ireland.
Grealish has not started a Premier league game since December 21.
Tuchel has also handed a shock recall to Jordan Henderson, while Kyle Walker is in despite his struggles since joining AC Milan on loan from Manchester City.
Morgan Rogers and Myles Lewis-Skelly are among the other players selected by the German ahead of his first two games as Three Lions boss.
