Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has come under scrutiny in recent weeks for his below-par performances.
As it stands, Haaland is the Premier League top scorer with 18 goals in 24 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.
While his numbers remain impressive, they represent a drop-off from his debut 52-goal campaign last term.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has come under some scrutiny in recent weeks
Former midfielder Roy Keane labelled the Norwegian a ‘League Two player’ last weekend
In comparison to Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Haaland has a shot accuracy of 57.14% while the former has 61.11 per 90 minutes.
The City striker also averages less shots on target, winning goals, non-penalty goals take-ons and fouls won. His conversion rate is also lower at 23.38% compared to Kane’s 34.44
Haaland does, however, beat the Englishman in chances created and touches in the opposition box.
Between Haaland and Mbappe, the latter comes out clear in every department, especially in his 2.5 take-ons completed, touches in the opposition box and conversion rate of 29.63%.
Harry Kane has had a superb debut season for Bayern and his stats better Haaland’s
The PSG star has shone this season with 39 goals in as many games across all competition as they close in on another Ligue 1 title.
Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez is another striker that has taken Europe by storm this season, and he fares relatively well in comparison to Haaland.
The Argentinian has a higher shot accuracy of 61.19%, non-penalty goals scored, a conversion rate which is more than 10% higher than Haaland’s as well as take-ons and fouls won.
Kylian Mbappe has scored 39 goals in as many games across all competition this season
Lautaro Martinez is the leading goalscorer in Serie A as his side Inter Milan close in on the title
Haaland only beats Martinez in touches in the opposition box and two shots on target compared to the latter’s 1.7.
While he may not be a striker, Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has fared much better than his City counterpart.
The England international clears Haaland with his impressive 70% shot accuracy, 40% conversion rate, 38 chances created, 39 take-ons completed and 66 fouls won.
In fact, Haaland only exceeds Bellingham in shots on target and touches in the opposition box which will come as no surprise given he’s a striker.
The two players will face-off next Tuesday when City and Real go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
