First direct customers have a chance to win up to £3,500 in cash as part of the bank’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
The HSBC UK division is running a prize draw through its app in October and November, offering 10 jackpots of £3,500 alongside smaller cash rewards just in time for Christmas.
This exciting opportunity is open to eligible customers and requires minimal effort to enter.
With the September draw winners set to receive their prizes this week, there’s still time for customers to participate in the upcoming October and November draws.
The promotion not only marks a significant milestone for first direct but also provides a potentially lucrative opportunity for its account holders.
To be eligible for the prize draw, customers must meet several criteria. Participants need to be UK residents aged 18 or over and hold a sole or joint First Direct current account opened on or before July 1, 2024.

Additionally, customers must make 30 debit card transactions, which can include purchases made through Google Pay and Apple Pay.
They must also opt into the prize draw via the link in an email (this was sent to customers who opted into marketing) or will be available through the banner in their App.
However, certain transactions are excluded from the count. These include gambling transactions, credit card or insurance payments, cash withdrawals, and card-to-card payments.
It’s important to note that the account must remain open and in good standing throughout the promotional period and until after the prize payment has been made.
Customers who close their accounts before the prize payment will not be eligible to receive the reward.
The deadline for the October draw is October 31 at 23:59, while the November draw deadline is November 30 at 23:59.
Opting in is a simple process and free of charge. Once completed, customers will be entered into any remaining 35th birthday prize draws, provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria for each month.
It’s worth noting that for joint accounts, entry is per customer, not per account.
First direct emphasised that entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.
Each monthly draw offers a range of prizes, with 10 jackpots of £3,500, 4,235 prizes of £100, and 235 prizes of £35 up for grabs.
The winners will be randomly selected by computer software on specific dates: November 13 for the October draw and December 11 for the November draw.
First direct will attempt to contact winners by email within 14 days of the draw date.
Prizes will be paid directly into the winner’s current account within 14 days of the draw being made.
It’s important to note that prizes cannot be transferred to another person.
Winners should be aware that they are responsible for any tax liabilities associated with their prizes.
