King Charles has honoured Stephen Fry with a knighthood at a prestigious ceremony at Windsor Castle today.

The 67-year-old comedian and presenter, best known for his iconic roles in Blackadder and as the host of QI, was recognised as part of the King’s New Year’s Honours list.

Fry received the honour for his exceptional contributions to mental health awareness, environmental advocacy, and charitable causes.

The much-loved star was accompanied by his husband Elliott Spencer, marking a rare public appearance for the couple who have not been seen together at a public event in six years.

The pair, who married in Norfolk in January 2015, typically keep their relationship out of the spotlight.

Fry has been a prominent figure in mental health advocacy for over a decade, using his platform to raise awareness about these important issues.

His dedication is highlighted by his long-standing presidency of the mental health charity Mind.

The comedian has been open about his personal battles with bipolar disorder, working to de-stigmatise mental illness through sharing his own experiences.
